Title: Pannier bags for the Downtown 300i?
Post by: Seanny on May 22, 2025, 01:06:00 AM
Any suggestions for a set of pannier / side bags for the Downtown 300i?
I already have to Givi rear storage case on the Downtown 300i, but looking for more storage in general for longer distance rides. The pannier is the next thing I have in mind but if there are any other suggestions please do let us know as well.

Thanks in advance.

Not aware of any fixed hard shell pannier aftermarket kits (maybe in the Philippines?) so I'd probably explore the cordura throwover options?  This UK review may help https://www.bestproductsreviews.co.uk/motorcycle-throw-over-panniers?targetid=dsa-51445251587&matchtype=&device=c&campaignid=18652782371&creative=629317821735&adgroupid=139508048621&feeditemid=&loc_physical_ms=9222551&loc_interest_ms=&network=g&devicemodel=&placement=&keyword=$&target=&aceid=&adposition=&trackid=uk_all_top_11_1&mId=407-132-4411&trackOld=true&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=18652782371&gclid=Cj0KCQjwlrvBBhDnARIsAHEQgOQJQlLF807lAPUyZkSSxLpX-YRRQibxH0o_ctR82KEQQgYp_cNVPpUaAjqREALw_wcB

I used the German brand Held panniers on my Triumphs for 000's of miles with nary a leak.  Sadly discontinued, but the Shad versions look nice?

I use soft bags on my Downtown 300i. Mine are 28 liter per side. I live in New Jersey and have used them on trips to midwest and New England.  Also I have a tail bag that I use.
