Title: ride prep: "passenger PSI" & oil level corrected

Topped up the gas (using the very accurate dash gauge) and caved in to my #1 serv. gripe - got down on my back and checked  the air in the tires.
I checked the plate rivetted to the scoot - "40PSI > rear". My memory isn't the best - but that doesn't sound rught.
Checked the manual: REAR - 32 PSI one rider > 40 PSI with passenger.
Well....I figure I'm about 1.5 or 1.6 normal riders - so went with 36PSI under my rear.

Then I remembered that I'd overfilled a bit on my last oil change. (put a pc of blue tape on the dash as a reminder) It was a very cold day - so I'd decided not to foolwidit.

Not my first rodeo with oil levels - so I used my turkey basting injector to draw out some oil through the fill neck to correct the level on the dipstick.*
Plugged the battery tender back in and sprayed another coat of water repellent on 3 pair of gloves for the wet ride tomorrow.

*no worries about that tube coming off and falling within the engine. I figured if anyone was prone to doing that, it would be me. So that tube is like 3' long. It's not going to disappear.

Ahh me....
Getting those tires back up to specs - is hard on the rear!
I do not do much Motor GPing - not in the dark black of morning through the rain and deer!....so, never mind if the tires are down a touch on the PSI.
If one were to put a meter on my scoot - it would record my average speeds at 28 in the dark - 33 in daylight. A touch more on the Liberty. For whatever reason I ride a bit faster on those big wheels.

Might be doing something to tire wear... probably. But at my age - tire longevity is the least of my long-term concerns :)

I can identify with that.  Tyres fitted a while ago and the pressures were OK then, done by a professional.  That'll do 'til the Spring!

you guys are killing me! My 'tire OCD' won't let me ride without checking tire pressures before each ride. Granted, I'm not an everyday rider..if I were to ride  the same bike every day I might go 2 or even...3...days between tire pressure checks., but that would be pushing it!
