Thanks from this side of the pond too Stig.  We had Remembrance Day yesterday and Armistice Day commemorations  today.  Always a sombre time.

never served myself, but my dad did, in the Navy '44-'46 on a fast attack transport, his most notable battle was the Battle of Okinawa. lucked out with kamikazes with bad aim

It was like a scene from a 1943 movie.....
I was speaking to my son at the dinner table, "did you guys catch anything today? Mom said you and Wade went fishing."
He said, "well no. Actually,  we went downtown and joined the Marines."
I forget what we had for dinner.
