I bug my local dealer at least once a month.  He still does not know when they may be available to order. Aggghhhhh

In the US it will probably not be here for at the very least of 3 years..... It has to go through goverment testing and that right there should tell the whole story!

The rep I talked to last year said that Kymco USA has not even filled papers to start bringing it here yet...

I agree, guile.  I suppose the 700 is intended for the touring or commuting markets.  I'd like to see a lighter 500 or larger displacement sportier scoot from Kymco.  Still, it's hard to find fault with my Xciting 500.  ;)  I really like the Yamaha Tmax but the price is a killer.  However, I've seen some low mileage used Tmax's for sale that really tempted me.  :D

Some day in the future I will look at and test a Downtown 300.  If what some say is true about it being quicker than the 500, I may choose one.

he 700i is in the same weight class as the Burman 650. A great highway cruising class but too much for me as an around town scoot.
that is the reason I wnet with the DT 300i as even the Burgman 400 seemed a bit bloated.

I am 5'11", 245 LBS with a 30" inseam and at first the leg room was a bit small but a good 4"+ between the knees and dash. Now that the seat is breaking in, 600 miles, I seem to have a bit more room. Power is more than ample, it is no rolling rocket but more than enough to leave casual traffic well behind or just too just go with the flow.

Same here! I checked one out the other day and was sorely disappointed with its weight and lack of leg room (32" inseam/sz 13 shoes). It is friggin' big. On the other hand My local Yamaha dealer just cut the price of a brand new 2010 majesty by $1200. Getting a bit tempted. Should I go Yamaha over Kymco?

p.s. All my riding experiences have been on yamaha/star products

It's hard to beat the quality of Yamaha, IMO.

True. They all feel solid and well built, but are a couple millimeters in gap difference worth an extra couple of G's?  ???
