Bought 2 pair of these leather ICON's on sale several yrs ago ( Revzilla) for summer riding.
I never ride without a leather glove on, even on the hottest summer day.*
I think I still have some Florida gravel in my palms from bike crashes when I was 9.

* I always wore an armored jacket, armored mesh in summer - but I used to ride in sneakers and Levi's.
Then I completed my "scooter accessories" by buying ICON armored boots and Bullet hip & knee armored jeans, with a kevlar seat.

Yes, like you Stig ALWAYS leather gloves. My go to pair at the moment are these* DXR ones which match my summer leather jacket. Coupled with leather boots by a UK company called Altberg# and snap on the Bull-it jeans with their kevlar material and CE PPE armour. ATGATT? I should coco!

At 60F or above I wear Alpinestars Copper gloves. They are a lot of mesh on the back of the hands but under the mesh there is a large hard plastic knuckle armor that provides a lot of protection for the knuckles and also some appropriately placed palm padding for some armor there. I can actually wear these just a few deg below 60F but then I have to put on my Tour Master Mid-Tex gloves. If it is raining in anything over 55-60F then along with my Frogg Toggs I wear TM Dri-mesh gloves that work OK. But if it is very warm I really don't care if my hands get wet through my gloves.

One reason I went with an ICON leather jacket as a gift for my son in that they come in various colors. Since his Yamaha is white - he didn't fuss too much when I bought him a white ICON.
Sady, my size ICON leather only came in black - so I added one of the U.K. police high-viz w/checkers vests to wear over it!

yes, always gloves, your hands are always first to touch town in a get off
even if only cheap Wells Lamont work gloves. I have a tough time finding gloves with my 3xl paws, most gloves only go to 2xl
recently bought a pair of Youngstown work gloves in 3xl

I have more gloves than my wife has shoes! All of my gloves are leather or a combination of leather and mesh. Most are armored on the impact areas. I never ride without gloves.
