An interesting watch Neil.
Thanks!

Very different in the States in the 60's.
At that time I did buy a Honda 90 for my 18 yr old wife and I - our only wheels! (@$260? OTD)
That was like riding a scooter around - but the gearing helped take us up and down in the Berkshires. Sometimes 2nd gear!
Sorry - but I'd rather have another new Honda 90 than any scooter!....I had that much fun on that well made bike!

Why not?....my family freaked in 2013 when I went looking at the dealer. "Motorcycles are dangerous - scooter?....very European!" So - the LIKE.

In those days the only auto I'd consider was a VW. Priced right, well built, 2 yr warranty, air-cooled. So, that is what we owned.

my first bike was a '67 Honda 90. Every kid in town had owned it before me, yep, it was a turd, I ended up over reving and swallowing a valve. bikeless a few years, my 2nd bike was a '73 CB125S, very much like my current day K-Pipe, the CB125S had similar fate as the 90, neither was made to go 80mph

my first car was a '68 Beetle
