Title: AK550
Post by: modrobbo on February 13, 2024, 04:54:22 AM
Hi I'm new to the group, I have a question about my AK550. I keep getting the engine fault light coming on and the problem is the oil level sensor, anyone else had this issue?

Welcome to the forum and welcome to AK 550 ownership.
I haven't had that problem. What is the oil level on the dipstick? I keep mine at about half way up the dipstick. Do not fill the oil higher than the mid point on the dipstick. That is too much oil. If oil doesn't show up on the dipstick or if the level shows near the bottom of the dipstick then add more oil.

Since this bike has what is called a wet clutch you MUST use an oil that is JASO MA or MA2 rated. Those oils are designed to be used in engines with a wet clutch. A wet clutch simply means that the clutch shares oil with the engine all from the same oil reservoir. If that rating is not stated on the bottle then do not use that oil.
