Title: Fuel gauge / mpg ~X-Town 300i abs
Post by: Crankymotors on September 20, 2023, 01:22:58 AM
All
Fun fact…x-town 300i (2022) with 600 miles gets 58 mpg ! (Kymco claim 65mpg)
Also the digital fuel gauge has multiple segments showing full tank (3.3 gallon) with the last segment & the “e” letter (empty) both flashing will give you around 45 mile’s remaining. Then the final segment disappears and just the letter “e” flashes and you have about 5 miles then you are out of gas!

(I carried a gas can with me to perform this test)

Basically once the last segment begins to flash together with the “e”  symbol get gas soon.

Once it is only the “e” symbol flashing, your getting really close to the ultimate upper body workout pushing your beautiful x-town to the next gas station!

😄

Enjoy the ride, avoid the slide!

I've read that it is not healthy for the fuel pump and injectors to run an EFI engine out of gas.
Gasoline lubes them both.
No expert here....

Yeh - both lubes and cools the pump, but its ok short term.

The need to know outweighed the very slight risk!

Interesting.  During my 8,000+ miles with my X-Town, I averaged 76.3 UK MPG.  (Or 63.5 US MPG according to Google!)
