Hi !
I have 2011 DT 300i which has power rating of 29 vs 33 hp on 2009 model due to emissions restriction. I can get my hands on used 2009 model ECU for about 50 USD. I checked parts catalogs for pre-2011 and aft-2011 models and internal engine parts have the same numbers ( piston, head, etc ). Throttle body assembly also shares similar part number between "new" and "old" power rating.
2011 model uses 39200-LEA7-E05 ECU while 2009 model uses 39200-LEA7-E00 ECU.
So I came up with idea of swapping ECUs and see what happens. What do you guys think ?

Hi !
I wanted to report that swapping ECU is the way to go if you are having issues with mid throttle hesitation or "micro-pulls" with post 2011 ECU's. That was the main reason why I deceided to swap ECUs. I tried to rotate MAF sensor before but that didn't help. I made now 3000 km with "new old" ECU and I'm so sure that I will never go back to 2011 restricted ECU so I sold it 8)
Engine is pulling forward constantly no matter how wide I open the throttle. I can't feel any additional HP or torque. ( 2009 33 hp vs 2011 29 hp ). My fuel MPG went down from 75 to 71.
