Title: NSR: Penn Turnpike, and Tesla charging?
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on June 24, 2023, 09:52:50 PM
Just returned from doing over 1500 miles back and forth to the east coast. A lot of it on the Pennsylvania turnpike.
Only one time did we find a human being at the toll booth. Paid her a dollar....but how does it work with all those other toll booths we only slowed as instructed... and then passed through without stopping?
Will the turnpike mail me a bill?.....and who to, since we were in a rental?

And one more question - regarding the Tesla charging stations we saw at a couple of the fancy rest areas along the turnpike..
Do the divers use a credit card to pay for the battery charge?, or what?...is it free?

Stig

my first time in West Verginia  - we all 3 broke into the John Denver song!....and 1st time in Delaware, too. (on a lark we went a few miles to visit a 'farm center'. They sold ice cream, and had 3 cows.
3 cows - we have more cows than that at the truck wash!
But they did have the biggest ceiling fan I've ever seen  - might have come off of a CH-47 (Chinook)

We only have one toll road near us Stig, the M6 Toll and recently going there & my card didn’t work I received the bill 2 days later!

As for Tesla, I’m sure I heard somewhere that at least in the UK it’s free charging for Teslas at their ports, all others pay. You generally pay via a smartphone app?
