Good day.
My 500i already old.
I watch to newer Kymco model lines.
But look like new Euro restrictions decreased new scooters power. Top power about 400cc.
What kymco model-line do you suggest for replace 500i ?
I want same big Suitcase, like burgman.
Or, maybe you already find for self, not kymco replacement?

No I’d say this is very much on topic.
There is, of course, the AK550 but this is a premium priced beastie. Now if Kymco offered a 500cc single pot thumper without all the bell & whistles for well under ten grand, then I’d be tempted.

Not only Kymco. Seems all other makes have gone to twin cylinder engines and premium for the big Maxi.

Well, what about usecases...
70% is a city. 30% long trips, with 10 % light offroad.
But I ride with a passenger, then I think not best idea about 'offroad" scooters with high clearance. Most preffereable comfort in long road.
And...probably low gravity center, because kymco 500i veeery uncontrolled on any light vertical hill offroad with second number. Maybe it is "illness" of all maxiscooters, ofc.
I looked kymco dt x360 board computer, this is cool - big display with many options , really modern look offer in moto world, I want same feature, too. But 320cc for highway... I'm already used to the comfort of 500cc power.
ps. I found same display only on Voge ds500.
xmax 400 weak too, In my opinion.

It's a fair point Stig. I must admit yesterday had me re-evaluating my views on the all round ability of my scooter. Don't get me wrong, I love the versatility of the DTX, but yesterday proved to me that 100+ mile days are NOT a practical proposition on it whilst they're a breeze on my Triumph! Horses for courses I guess.

My son, who is 5'6" on a good day, just bought a 1997 Kawasaki Eliminator, 600cc in mint condition for 2200 bucks. It's lighter than my scooter and he can flat foot it easily which at 5'8" I can NOT do on my 500 scooter. I sat lower on my Viragos than on my scooter. I ride a scooter only because it's getting tough in my old age to swing a leg over a bike seat when my legs & back are pretty bad these days.

imho, automatic transmission important part for lightweight learning, like and low gravity center.

Agreed - saddle heights on some bikes!
Getting on my son's 'adventure' Honda cb500X was like mounting John Wayne's horse!....once I was up there we could see the Indians....
But - wasn't any less awkward on my Burgman 400 - with the supposed step-through middle. One had to be committed! to get on with anything like grace.
