Title: Clutch springs

Have any of you guys put in different clutch springs for quicker take offs? My Navi has me spoiled.

Nope..changed the contra spring, once, as the one I had measured shorter than shop manual specs so ordered a new OEM one..it too was shorter than manual said it should be! Installed it and didn’t notice any difference one way or another!

@brianmckewen, for real "quick take offs" there are only two ways, which go:

-change your CVT to an upgraded like MALOSSI or similar
-play in this upgraded CVT with different roller (glider/wedges) weights.
Both are not really expensive and gives lots of fun.
Usually MALOSSI comes with a different contra spring, but as hawk also says, I couldn't see a measurable difference using yellow, white or red.

Sorry guys. I worded it wrong. I meant so that the clutch grabs quicker instead of the engine winding up before the clutch engages. My Kymco is plenty fast enough for me from takeoff. My Navi clutch engages much quicker than on my S200. I like that. Not sure if the Kymco has 1000, 1500 or 2000 RPM clutch springs stock. Any of you guys know which? Thanks.

Personally haven't experimented with clutch springs,  only replaced when lame..

Clutch springs are a black art because (a) they come in different lengths, and (b) the color-codings are not universal.   Good luck trying to get any useful facts from online vendors! You will make many mistakes until you get something useful.  However, if you can find and install some STRONGER springs, your scoot will totally wind up higher before the clutch bites.  This will surprise unsuspecting Tesla drivers when the light turns green!  Since then I've decided that is much easier to buy a bigger scooter than to try to figure out clutch springs.
