Good one, Neil.
Daughter laughed!

Wife sighed....went back to making breakfast.

Stig

(BTW, Neil - snowed last eve - so I watched a 1954 Brit movie from the library.  WWII..."The Battle of the river Plate" (beating up on the poor Graf Spee)....NO subtitles. What the heck year did you folks finally start speaking English!? Without the subtitles I was only getting about 15% of the dialogue in this '54 flick!....and what's the deal with going to war in white walking shorts?!)

Royal Navy tropics uniform!

Some would say most of us never speak the Queen’s English!  (I know, I need to come to terms with the fact that we now have a King.)

Never wore shorts in the tropical 'Nam. Not a good idea when walking through "Wait-a-Minute" vines and razor grass. Did cut the crotch out once or twice - when the Hanoi Trots came visiting you wouldn't have time to get your trousers down before vacating your guts.
Say, what's for lunch! :)

Thanks Stig, that gave me a hearty chuckle.  Good way to start the week!

Truly, we all need to be reminded of this fine example from time to time.

You, Neil, have become the cerebral counter-balance to Stig's daily ride example. Your leading example of wisdom and thought to his of action. We salute you both!

Eh?!  You got the wrong man there Karl!   Cerebral?  Couldn't even recall which series we'd watched four out of six episodes of last night!  Then, even when the wife reminded me, didn't know if it was on BBC, Netflix, Prime or Apple TV...

On a far more serious note, sad to hear today that Dave Crosby has died aged 81 I think.  Contributed to the soundtrack of my generation and he will be sadly missed.

I read the same. He certainly knew, dated, and played with a lot of the names from those days! The list was amazing to read.
Have kicked around the idea of starting a thread: "What you listening to?" (it's pretty popular on vespa forum) Place to post a fav piece you're liking this week.

What do you think?

I think threads like this make it easier for everyone to contribute, and that builds community. I'm on several motorcycle forums that have good communities, and a few that just don't.

Some common thread themes are: "what are you listening to", joke of the day, rant of the day, small victory of the day, what did you do with your bike today?, pics of your ride out on the road.

Scavenger hunt threads are fun, first poster puts out an easy challenge like post a pic of your ride in front of a mural. The first one to post that pic sets the next challenge, like your bike in front of a....cannon, bridge, rail crossing, airplane, helicopter, vintage car, etc... Good fun that encourages participation and encourages us to get out riding.

I agree Alan.

OK, let's see what happens.
