Recently I posted a picture I captured off a Google Search by simply copying the image and pasting it into the post. That turned out better than I expected so here is a test of doing that same thing with one of my own pictures.
That still did not work so will try a different approach.
This time I copied the image address from my Google Photos collection, then clicked the button in the button bar above a new post box and pasted the image address in between the image code brackets.

Both of these photos were taken at full resolution of 12.5 MP but by copying the image address fixes the limitation of this forum for photo sizing. This method is somewhat different than using a outside photo storage source and pasting the image link into the post.

can't see em

I see two grey "no entry" euro road signs.....and an acre of white space.

Well then, I guess that means my test fails. Since those are in my Google Photos repository you must need to be a Google account holder to see them.

There were two nice pictures there earlier today.....

Interesting.
But not there now?

I am not a phone user. Just carry an old flip phone. The only way I have been able to post photos is to adjust my camera down to 4 MP or less photo size and then when they are in my files to view their file size for the ones that are under the 1024KB limit.

That's why I usually just post a link to my photos in Google Photos. I don't have a setting to reduce the photo size in my camera/phone and don't want to resize just for this one forum.

Me neither and I’m a Google account holder Bob.

Great pix!

I've found the easiest way is to save a pic to my laptop, open it, 'snip' it, save it to my 'upload file' and attach here (just did with your pic). I suppose it's no faster than your method, although it does give you a preview of the photo. (nice pics, by the way)

I see a blank line between pp 3 and 4. The two image links work fine. Our digital cameras take a default image size that far exceeds the capabilities of this bb. It is what it is.
