Title: sad to report the passing of Kansas Kymco, aka Dan Hargis
Post by: Iahawk on October 25, 2022, 02:24:22 AM
Very sad to learn of the passing of our friend Kansas Kymco on Oct 11. The funeral was Tuesday, Oct. 18th. I emailed KK a few days ago to check in on him as he hasn't posted in quite a while. Not getting a response back I did a search for Logan Dan Hargis in McPherson, KS. His obituary came up. I guess the stroke was too much to recover from.

I know he loved spending summers at his place up in Ely, MN, where he kept extra scooters for his friends to ride when they visited. He also had a big bike and scooter collection at home. I think he told me at one time he had around 20 bikes and scooters. He'd recently added a nice outbuilding at his home specifically for working on his bikes. He'd asked me to take over the restoration of his S200 and Grand Dink after his stroke but I was never able to make the logistics work of getting to Kansas and back home with the scoots. Sure wish I'd been able to. He loved his dogs, too. he mentioned the Collies numerous times. I hope they are in a good home. We're gonna miss you, Kansas Kymco.

Very sad to hear indeed.
Always gives me pause to hear of the passing of someone so young.

Thank you Hawk for keeping such a close watch and notifying us. He, like any the rest of this crowd will be missed. I wish we had an Iowa Hawk when Vivo dropped from sight. I wish we had KK and Vivo back with us but then any of our wishes are not The One who really runs this.

Thanks again.

Hawk, thank you for letting us know.
This rascal had been with us since the summer of '19, with over 2000 posted entries.
He seemed to have last logged in here just a little over a month ago.
Goodness he was a busy man - with projects around his home and he loved to travel and find scooters for his collection.
We all enjoyed his posts - and then were saddened by his struggles with the sudden onset of poor health.

Those Collies were his children - and we hope they are in a loving home now.

Gentlemen - not to put too fine a point on it - keep an eye on your blood pressure.

You are missed KK.

Stig

This is sad to hear and a sad loss for his family.

In my limited interaction with him he always seemed a good chap and his posts were great to read.

As a relatively new member, I knew of KK but did not have interactions with him. Yet after watching my FIL deal with his stroke and recovery, I was interested in his struggles. I too am saddened to hear of his passing.
