My CVT belt blew up last week - called Arctic Dealer and got a new belt. Took some effort but did get the belt replaced and running. Good news the unit goes 5 to 9 mph faster....bad news is it has lost alot of power. I would say low gear starts off like the old high gear does and high gear feels like it is pulling a house until you get it going a bit. Also reverse has very little power. Question to this group - what did I do wrong or miss?

Wrong width of belt to start...

If not the wrong width then it's the wrong (smaller) belt circumference, which would also cause the UTV to start in a higher "gear" ratio, giving the illusion of loss of power.

Well I called the UTV dealer and told them what I had....I guess it is possible in this day and age that someone gave me the wrong one...

Really a distinct possibility. Sorry it happens as it really scews up everything!

What else did you replace when you put in the new belt? Usually problems like this are from the installation. A new belt won't do what you describe.
