old cheesy 80's Rick Astley song reference?...anyone?....
Well, it's in reference to my little Ninja...I haven't ridden my bike since August 14th, over 2 months. I've spent the time riding my 2 twist n go scoots and loving it. In fact, I even asked myself more than once if I could maybe sell my bike and go full twist n go, full time(?)
So this afternoon I decided to hop on the Ninja and give her a run on this beautiful mid 60's F day with blue skies and autumn leaves falling. What a joy. I sometimes forget how fun it is to blast through the gears with crisp upshifts and perfect blip throttle downshifts. A firm (but comfortable) ride. A riding position that feels like you're flying as I only see a little of my windscreen, gauges and bars as I'm riding. A more crouched riding position, knees squeezing the tank, exhaust burbling away, one with the machine.
I rode twisty, smooth back roads with speeds from 35-50 mph. The weather was perfect, the bike was perfect.
I erased all thougts of ever selling my bike, or being without a bike I can shift.
As the song says - never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna run around and desert you!
(pre ride video included...bike sounds better in person!)

I like my K-Pipe, even more since I put the ZS190 5 speed in it, I tend to go about 5mph faster than you, 40-55mph
I miss the downshifting to a stop when I ride my AK550

I don't feel the need to give chase, when a sport machine, passes me on my Downtown. But if I had that Ninja 400, I would probably open the throttle. For me best that I have made it to old age and no scars.

And that’s EXACTLY how I feel every time I ride my Triumph 675R!

Shifting on the Rebel makes me appreciate the twist n go scooters, while the same twist n go makes shifting that much more fun.
