Title: Flat Tires
Post by: TPococke on November 22, 2010, 10:19:33 PM
After three flat tires in 3 months I must either be the unluckiest scooter rider or Michelin should just stick to car tires. Now I have a Metzeler rear tire. I'll see how long this one lasts.

Unlucky is right! Wow.  All on the rear, I take it?  Did you come close to crashing?

Unlucky is right! Wow.  All on the rear, I take it?  Did you come close to crashing? The first flat was on the interstate. I was going about 80 mph and I noticed the rear end starting to fishtail. A driver behind me (who rides motorcycles) said he was praying I wold get it pulled over in time. The tire went down quickly. About a dime size hole in the middle of the tire. Needless to say I pulled the scooter over in time. The second flat was at low speed in town. The last one was again around 80 mph but the tire went down pretty slow. So i guess my luck is running both ways cause i haven't crashed

I've got about 50.000km (30k+ miles) total on bikes (2 scooters and one motorcycle) and zero flats!  ;D
I'm sure that will change soon now that I've said it.  >:(
