Title: Think it's time for Dynabeads!
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on August 27, 2022, 11:12:39 AM
Now that I'm forced to ride on a 55mph state route on my coffee rides...I  think it's time to use something to balance my front wheel.
At 35mph it's not sn issue...but this morning I decided to do something about ghe front 'bounce'.
I was taking some pics this morning near a farm house when some fellow walked up behind me is his boxers and wife beater....to "check" on me!
"Nah, I'm fine, thanks!. Just trying to get a photo of the fog."
I was more embarrassed than he was.

“Wife beater”? What’s that Stateside? Over here it’s a nickname for Stella Artois, a strong Belgian lager!!

Yeah, we wish! Maybe 50 years ago.

as usual..we digress!...this thread is about Stig hitting the high speed road and realizing his front tire isn't so well balanced! Not being one who messes with tire valves...do you simply remove the valve core with one of those little tools and pour in the dyna beads?

And Stig, are you really riding wide open throttle at 55 mph in the dark in the morning??

Yeah, I think you just remove the tire valve core and vibrate the beads in there. They tell you how many ounces per wheel size.
And, yeah - well, not 55 but 48>53 or so - with no one behind me. Rt. 68 is straight as a string - and no roadside trees to hide deer for the few miles I'm on it. I bail off of it ASAP and take new rural side roads to avoid all but 1/2 mile of the gravel. Once in YS I noted my tach saved "7200" rpms. ("11+HP at 7250" according to Kymco)
That guy this morning gave me quite a start....out there. I could hear his dogs barking out there somewhere behind me in the dark, quickly thought of the mail lady in FL who was recently eaten by 4 dogs when her mail truck broke down...and then this guy walks up behind me in the red of my brake lights, like some kind of specter in his undies!

"Geez bud! putsome pants on!"

I looked again at the couple of photos in the sequence above.
See that spec of light to the right of my scooter, back in the road? I looked at the 3 pics i took.
Pretty sure that was my 'concerned citizen' coming, unnoticed by me.

Plaid boxers....coming.

Beware of red Ford trucks,  banjo music is as distinctive as bagpipes, recognizable from a distance, Georgia ? pfft! don't get lost in North Carolina

Do Dynabeads actually work?

Never used them myself, but there’s folks on here swear by them.
