Title: Dark, Fog, gravel, unknown road = U-turn!

Got out in the boonies this morning....fog getting thicker, some gravel coming up, then diverting to a lesser known route, constantly wiping my visor.
"Ah heck - Tim Horton's dark roast is pretty good."
Turned around and rode back into town, stopped at Tim's.

There is a coffee shop across the street - but their coffee is average and they open 90 mins after Tim does!

Wow, that 4th pic is awesome..nicely done! I still can't believe the conditions you routinely ride in...the dark, fog, mist, rain...on rural county roads! Stay safe out there.

It was a tough call thus morning.  The gravel was the stopper!
If I know my roads, and after years - I do - then I  can comfortably ride in what seems like marginal  conditions. But try as I might I could not always avoid areas of deep loose gravel the other day ....and I wasn't dealing with a wet visor.
This morning there would have been a mile or so of that, and several miles of unfamiliar roads.
I was on the scooter with the very good headlight...and without the wet fog it would have been fine. (I wear glasses...so riding with raised visor gains me nothing)

           Just noticed in most all your pictures, the scooter lights are on. Do you leave them on when parked, or is that just for effect of the picture?

I'll let him confirm Mike, but I'm sure I recall Stig saying in the past that he likes the look of the lights in the photos!

Yeah....I'm a bigger fan of night photos....with some interesting light.

Like this fisherman going out into the Gulf of Mexico 2 mos ago. I was on a bench with my Dunkin Donut (dark blend') waiting for the sunrise at my back.

Re. scooters > I usually take time to set the brake (rubber band carried on front turn pod) and apply the turn-signal.
2 reasons...to increase my visibility to cars since I'm often dismounted in or near traffic.
And, yeah, I like the extra lights!
This would be a boring photo if I turned the key off.
