Title: Better solution for beverage holder
Post by: mrmike on July 31, 2022, 11:51:53 AM
Last week I posted a solution I came up with to carry a beverage on my scooter while riding. Today I improved on that solution. I installed a second drawer pull to the front of my glove box. Then I bought a baby stroller organizer. It attaches with 2 Velcro strips. Now I can carry 2 beverages, my keys, cell phone, and garage door opener. It folds up to put gasoline in, and can be removed easily when not in use. What do you think!

Oh for the love of mike - I hope our embarrassing American obsession with drink holders does not spread across the pond!
Our new car brochures, on page one - boast that "this soccer mom will be blessed with no fewer than 14 cup holder spread throughout the interior and exterior of the vehicle!"
no mention of the engine performance, MPG's, safety features , nadda. It's the bleedin' cup holders which sell vehicles over here.

My late brother who managed everything from Porsche/Audi to Chevy truck dealerships told me he taught his salesmen the importance of getting the number of cup holders in any opening sentence to the customers.
He'd shake his head sadly, after that.....

Too late Stig.  I fear that's another American obsession that has firmly implanted itself here in the UK.  If it makes you feel any better, the wife's Landy only has 2!

Sorry Stig. I'm just not a coffee guy like you. I'm totally hooked on iced tea. I love to ride the back roads with no stores or restaurants around. My new idea lets me bring 2 iced teas instead of 1. That means I can ride an extra hour before returning. I promise 2 is the limit.

MrMike, while I'll admit that I'm not a 'cupholder' riding kind of guy....your solution is very creative and well done. That looks right at home on the scoot and looks to be large enough to store all kinds of stuff!  Very nice.

Bet there's room for an ice pack in there too Mike?
