Title: ride to to rockpile

forgot my camera, beautiful day on the mountain, high 50s/low 60, light breeze, a better than average day
but I did get my sticker

200 miles for the day, and 4 fill-ups,  the K-pipe is not that economical with a 190cc

The Rockpile is a local colloquialism, the peak is alpine environment, that juts a couple thousand feet above the timberline

as I said, beautiful day yesterday (Thursday) on Wednesday, they weren't letting bikes go up the autoroad, 70mph wind, 120mph gusts and nearly zero visibility,  weather changes so fast up there, I've been up only once before, about 20 years ago, and by luck, 2nd warmest day EVER @ 71°, and calm, visibility as far as the eye can see, something almost never seen

yes,  only 1 of 360 views,  auto road is 7.6 miles and ascends 4600 feet, they do not allow scooters, mopeds or pedal bikes, so a K'pipe or maybe Grom is the smallest vehicle they allow,  somebody in front of us had stinky brakes on the way down, and should have pulled over ina one of the dozens of pull overs for brake cooling,  K-Pipe and all the bikes I was with, engine braking in low gear was enuf, except feathering the brakes when we coasted up to the stinky truck

buildings at the summit are all chained down so they won't blow away, still holds world record for highest "measured" wind speed with an anemometer.
