Local rider killed after running from police who were trying to cite him for an illegal turning.
Crossed lanes and hit a curb.
For pete's sake. Don't flee on two wheels....whatever you're going to be cited for won't be that big of a deal, or horribly expensive.
Live to ride another day - with a lighter billfold.

I am always, ALWAYS, amazed at the stupidity of those who run from the police as a first response. Even if they did nothing wrong... especially if they did nothing wrong. That action just SCREEMS "I'm a criminal and you need to put me in jail". But also if they did do something wrong they only make it worse, as that example proves.

A tragic and unnecessary self-induced loss of life.

I got stopped once, back in 1999, I remember cause I had a first year SV650, I saw blues, so I pulled over, first comment from leo was "didn't think you were going to stop, all I want to do is check out your bike, I'm thinking of getting one"

Last time I was pulled over I THOUGHT it was for having a sequential tail light LED bar... like Kit the Knight Rider car. I was pulling my camper with my ST1100 on my way to a camping trip/event. Turns out the rookie officer thought my modulating headlights were a broken wire. He walked up to me seated on my bike (yep, I did what I was supposed to do and just sat there and waited for him to come to me with my hands sitting on the grips where they can be seen and bike turned off). He also was with a law enforcement reviewer/evaluator grading him. I explained that I had modulating headlights and showed them the card I kept on the bike with the federal and state law references governing that system. They had never heard of it before so took note of the law references to look up later.

Tragic waste of a life. What a foolish reaction
