After giving myself a needless fright 40 miles from home one frigid morning.....I set about secreting a spare ignition 🔑 on my scooters.
Have you done the same?
It is visible here in this morning's pic....

No, not concerned about someone using it.
My scooters are either behind locked doors, or where I am looking at them..

Yeah? Where?

Is that it hanging out of the top case lock?
I know some owners of bikes with saddlebags that need a key to open who took spare keys and added a knob on the end to make them look like dials covering the key holes and just left them there all the time.
I've always kept a spare key hidden on my bikes someplace, though not where they can be seen. On my AK, since there is no "key" involved being keyless, I put my spare fob in a RFID pouch (bought a pair on Amazon) and drop that in the storage box under the seat. I have a secret seat latch release that I can use to open the seat to get at it. The RFID pouch prevents the AK from "seeing" that fob from the storage box.

Ah, that’s a UK only phenomenon I take it?

Duct-taped under the rear rack....with a bit of stout string hanging so I can reach it to pull it out of the tape.
Have since started carrying my old Swiss Army knife with the phillips blade. So key is behind a panel now.

Next time I'm on the group W bench I'll look around for him.
