Title: Kymco Xciting 250i ECU compatibility
Post by: Tarashev on May 21, 2022, 02:19:08 PM
Greetings guys,
My ECU has broken down and i cannot find replacement for the same model.
Attached you can find picture of the ECU i have on my scooter.
My question is if i am abke to replace it with ECU from some other model with the same engine?

As s learning experience for others....how did you determine that your ECU has died?

After the burning of the 30 amp fuse 10 times in a row i put in 40a and saw it burn infront of my eyes 😑 . Just for the heck of it.

Thank you for the greeting, I have found one crashed  xciting 300i
For 250euro. I think that i will check if the engine mouns on the frame are the same and do complete engine swap...because i prefer to have donor bike as i have faced other issues and i prefer to have spare parts available. Instead of paying 400euro for 1 chip

Wish you all the best.

Should be the same, and if not, small alterations can easily be done to fit the bloc. Spares are fine to have too. Keep us posted how it goes.

EDIT: take a zillion of pics and share some wirh us. 'cause I'm thinking of a similar project
..and which country are you located at?

Yow! That's one way to confirm! Har, har!
You may be able to compare wiring diagrams of the original model and the potential donor model to see if the connectors are the same, go to the same sensors, same sequence, yak, yak...similar sizes probably have similar "mapping" for fuel control.
Quite a project! Doable for certain. Welcome! Will follow 2ith interest.

I am from Bulgaria, been riding motorcycles for 17 years this is my first scooter and i bought it just to have something to ride as i sold my other bike this spring and i lasted exactly 1 week without one :), but i really like the comfort of it and even if i buy another motorcycle later on i will keep it for town riding and close travels as it drives great.

Also attached you can find a photo of the donor bike. It is 400 km away from my location so i am arranging some kind if transport.

As for the pictures i guess it will pose no trouble for me and if you really want i can keep you in the loop, even if this is no longer related to the subject of this topic. (if the moderators don't mind ofcourse)

This donor scoot looks good and promising.
Only wheels and brake assamblies are worth to buy it for that price. Muffler, if there, is an expensive item too. Good luck and keep us posted.
