Title: UXV 700 stalls after engine breaking downhill
Post by: ozhills on February 27, 2022, 09:50:18 PM
When I go down a steepish hill without applying the throttle, it usually stalls towards the bottom when I'm about the apply the throttle again.

Sometimes the engine is very rough (if it hasn't stalled).

Why would it do this, and can it be fixed?  thanks.

Took it in for first service, the dealer said this issue made no sense mechanically, and he'd check with the distributor to see whether a sensor might be to blame.  My next step will be to take a couple of videos to show him.

I still would change the spark plug. They are bad about fouling the plug. Especially if a newer model.

Unfortunately they all say that when they have no clue!! He needscto hook up a trouble shooting device and ride it until it acts up.  They always run fine when sitting in the shop.......

How many miles are on it? Mine did the same thing during the first 300 miles. I am at about 500 and I has only done it once since 300ish miles.

Yes I did and may not any more have a stall problem also on my 2020 700i. I notice it more when plowing, it would stall out between stoping and changing gears. It would only randomly do it. The 1st service I told my dealer but of course it wouldn't do it for them. They told me they are set up lean at the factory. I said O, does that make it ok?  So after my 1st year went by I got frustrated and put a tuner in it since my warranty was up.  That messed it up even more with it stalling , running rough, fowled plug. So then I took the turner off and called a different  dealer for help. They told me to raise the idle slightly and it seems to be much better now.  It's been 2 weeks with out stalling. I raised idle to 2k.
