I rubbed some of that secret ROC* skater's not-illegal ointment on my seat.

Next morning the I.O.C. inspected my scooter said they couldn't detect any significant change!

(*Russian Olympic Committee is in town because ' RUSSIA' is one year into a two-year ban on official competition in the Olympics and major world championships. The ban is punishment for a comprehensive state-sponsored doping scheme ... Don't be confused, the ROC is not Russia. It's Russia. Putin explains it better than I can)

Gotta feel sorry for this 15 yr old - she probably would have brought home the gold if her Russian handlers hadn't gone shopping for a chemical advantage.
As for my rebuild of the LIKE seat - I increased the foam thickness so that I would no longer feel the hard ridge in the center of the seat-pan under the stock foam. Generally pain in the tail-bone came on in @ 25 mins with the stock seat*.
These days I never think about my seat while riding.

*my like-new, unmolested, LX seat is bagged and in my closet. For this rebuild I paid $35 on ebay for a seat from a LIKE 50. It had only a slightly scuffed cover. I removed the cover, rebuilt atop the orig. foam - recovered using Sail-Rite 4 Way stretch vinyl and stainless staples.

Not only inches thicker, but wider as well with stiffer edges....no more rolling side to side.
Seat height is about 34 inches. Ugly but comfy for me, at 6'3" flat foot.

OK, I’m a little slow…I had to look at the seat a few times before I noticed the, uh, increase..in size! 34” and you can flat foot it?? I’d need a ladder to mount that! The only thing I can flat foot is my Helix…with a 26” low seat height!

Yeah, Kymco intends for the rider to sit 1/2 the way back from the nose at the front....in that depression in the seat pan.
But for taller riders that RED circled ridge in the pan is a Coccyx Killer! The seat foam is too compliant and too thin to help me (at a touch over 6'3" / 265lbs at the time - 245 now)
So I built upon the orig. foam - gluing good foam made for seating - not stuff from a fabric shop. (internet searched)_Used very dense foam at the front knob to keep from sliding off the nose, and at the rear as a bit of a butt/back rest.
Med. firm foam to widen the seating area and inches of the stuff to bury that da_n ridge!
If I recall correctly - I did not cut away any part of the orig. foam - just built upon it with my new foam using spray glue, and shaped it slowly with an electric knife and a belt sander. Stopping frequently to test ride it with plastic bag over it.
I started t h i c k ....and tried to stay thick - otherwise I'm wasting my time if I could still feel that ridge.
The height above the passenger grab rail gives some idea how much taller my seat is now.
Yeah - I drop my feet at lights - flat-footed no problem.
