I bought this big soft house brush at the hardware store the other day - off the dollar table.
It worked great for washing the nooks and crannies around the rear, and the rims and spokes, front disc, etc. Soft! so it doesn't disturb ABS stuff, etc.
The back of us both were filthy when I got home. Clear up on top of the rear case was very dirty water. The back of my hi viz rain jacket and my helmet had muddy water on them. The worst mess I've ever seen after a ride* - that is how dirty the dry roads were - then the rain came!
A clean scooter is a happy scooter!

How'd you get your scooter to hang upside down to drip dry that way?
Seems that would be handy to get the bottom side clean.
I was thinking of getting a hand pump garden sprayer tank to get the bottom side of mine. I'd ONLY use warm water in it and never for chemicals for obvious reasons.

No, no pics. Quickly went to work on the scooter before crud started drying.
Even the back of my scarf was soaked with dirty water.
I rarely ride over 40mph ....I'm in the dark on 'deery' rural roads, or in the rain, or both....
But I followed an Amazon truck at 50 for a mile or 2...I think we had some kind of vortex going...swirling behind me in my very comfy but upright riding position in the pouring 🌧.
Helmet and jacket still needs a wash.
In 9yrs of riding scooters never finished so dirty..

I've been using a garden sprayer after winter rides for years.
Rinses without soaking switches, etc. Rubber mat to kneel on for undersides washing.

I can confirm that level of dirty is the norm for UK winter riding Stig!
Update: I’ve had a clean scooter for almost a week now! (But only because it’s stayed in the garage. Storms here have dissuaded me from venturing out. Riding a scooter in 70+ mph gusts is not my idea of fun.)
