Title: AK 550 sub forum request
Post by: rjs987 on November 01, 2021, 10:33:45 PM
Putting in my order for the AK 550 sub forum to be added under the Scooters - Big Bore section.

There seems to be enough "talk" about that scooter model to warrant having its own sub forum.

BTW- Even the Burgman USA forum has a sub forum for the Kymco AK 550 as well as a FAQ sub forum for the Kymco AK 550!

Good luck with that.  We never got a sub forum for the Like 150i which came out in 2018.  Whoever is in charge of this forum doesn't seem to put much effort into running it.  I still get errors messages at the end of every thread.

Might be a help if I HAD a FB account. I don't and don't ever intend to have one.  >:(
There are plenty of other web based forums on Maxi-scoots, and ADV Rider, and even BurgmanUSA (of all places) which have lots of informative posting on the AK 550. "WE" are accepted those places as well as here.

I never did either as I’d seen too much of the negativity fb can cause from my time with the police. Then a few years ago I had to open an account in connection with my role as a local councillor (minor local Govt elected rep) and all that served to do was reinforce my existing prejudices!  What a bear garden.

I also do not have a FB account, nor do I intend to. My wife does...and I used her account to join a Honda Helix group on FB as well as using her account to search FB Marketplace for used motorcycles and scooters. I just logged into both sites, bookmarked them and saved the password.

That is all I ever intend to use FB for!

I understand entirely anyone's reluctance to have a Facebook account. Having just retired after two decades living and working abroad, Facebook has been brilliant in providing my spouse and me opportunities to stay in touch with friends at home and across the globe.

These days, my interaction with Facebook is solely via Groups. Groups are subject-specific and moderated. I pay little attention to my news feed, which is just a means of feeding the algorithm.

All that said, as the owner of a Kymco X Town 300, a People 250 and a Like 200i, it's frustrating to find support for only the Like.

As to the original question regarding the addition of new "sub-headings" for new scoots, while it's all well and good that "...there are plenty of other web based forums on Maxi-scoots...", why isn't that happening in a Kymco forum that's presumably dedicated to Kymco products?

Excellent question.

The biggest problem with this forum is that there doesn't seem to be anyone running it.  It's pretty much on auto pilot.  I doubt that the administrator actually reads or participates on the forum.
