Honest mistake I guess - unless you're from Ohio.

35,000 of 'em run off before the mistake was noticed.

Me neither Karl so I don't either. A guess, are there no skyscrapers in Ohio?
PS I'm sure Stig will put us out of our misery!

Got it! The Wright Brothers made their first flight on December 17, 1903, 4 mi (6 km) south of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.

Aside from if every plate was printed with OHIO as the plate number instead of being unique...
Looks like the pilot is sitting in the small picture of the flyer on the plate vs laying prone on the original flyer that was made and flown.
-
Looks like the twin small wing things ought to be at the front of the plane whereas on the plate they're on the rear?

That depend on what direction you think that plane is flying on the plate. It just may be headed to the right. I can just barely make out the pilot, seated, and facing to the right so that would make the smaller wings in front just like the actual plane.

Take your point Bob, but surely the pictures drawn to look as though the plane is towing the "birthplace of aviation" banner?

I guess I can see that also.
Maybe it's PUSHING the banner. :o

Yep. They also developed rope pushing as a sport.
Stig

Pitch planes (pitch control surfaces) in the Wright Flyer are pointy-ended and on the tag they are rounded.
Do I get the prize?

Yes, the image on the plate shows the plane flying backwards. Sorry.... You guys took too long.
I ate the prize with my coffee. :)

I'm not real happy with the Ohio DMV right now. I bought my X-Town 300 from Cleveland moto last month. They gave me a 45 day temp tag, but I still don't have my title from Ohio. After the 1st of November, I can't legally ride my scooter until I get the title and register it in New York.

I don't know. I contacted them last week to ask about a extension on my temporary permit. They said to wait and contact them 3 days before expiration so they could do a title search. Meanwhile I have a scooter that I cannot ride legally (in 6 days) until I register it in New York state. I need the Ohio title to register it in New York. I don't think that's going to get done in 6 days. I'll wait and contact them on the28th, but I doubt anything will get resolved in time.

Guess what? I got my title mailed to me today from Cleveland Moto. Now I can register and get my NYS plates.
