Title: nice ride to the lake
Post by: Iahawk on October 13, 2021, 08:38:08 PM
nothing fancy, just took a nice, midday ride to our nearby lake and campground, yesterday. Weather was about perfect at 70 degrees and sunny (21 C). Took off my helmet and gloves and made a few business phone calls from the picnic table..then hopped back on the Helix and headed home. It was only about a 20 mile trip but I love riding the low speed, twisty roads around the lake areas.

Still loving the Helix and almost disappointed that there's not much work left for me to do on the scoot (will add led flasher relay so I can run led turn signals, may replace clutch pads and will likely rebuild front caliper this winter).

Picture is not Stig or Klav quality, just a spur of the moment shot..

I can quickly quench that thirst for a winter project, I'll even let you have your choice of projects.  ;D

It's amazing how a ride can be zen like to help clear the mind.

KK you are SO right!  If ever I'm not in the best frame of mind then even a short ride has me turned around just like magic.  Always has and I hope always will.

I agree, all is right with the world after even a short ride on 2 wheels!

Just had a quick 40-mile round trip to collect a car part for the son.  Laced together some great country roads and it made for a great head clearer.  (Dry & 16c, that'll do me!)

Absolutely on the money!
At the elevator - folks at work used to greet me, "How are you today, Tom?"
I'd reply, "Well, my therapist is very encouraged...."
One morning the director of the agency was standing behind me when I said that.
Fortunately, he has a sense of humor.

A few years ago (again, at work) a common greeting here was “Hello Neil, hows life?” My regular response was “Well, considering the alternative...”

Neil my Dad use to say something similar. When discussing aging his response was (it beats the alternative).
