Title: Meet Up & Ride Out (UK Midlands)
Post by: Neil955i on September 15, 2021, 09:34:23 AM
Good to report meeting up with another Forum member the other day for a snatched ride out in between (his) work commitments.  Turns out @Viper254 only lives a 20 minute ride from me and so we agreed to meet up at a midway point for a gentle bimble through some local country lanes.

Sorry, no photos on this occasion, so you'll have to take me on trust for this account.  Viper has finally got his Honda C70 back on the road, but claimed it only hits a reliable 45 mph top whack, so we took it easy - though afterwards I pointed out that I was reading 50 mph on the X-Town and he was keeping up!  It was an enjoyable outing which revealed the C70's new rear shocks were a big improvement, but have now exposed the limitations of the aged front wheel spindle bearings!  More work to be done.

Hopefully our next ride will be less rushed and if so, I will get the camera out to record the day.

Might even be the first Kymco UK ride out.

Nice trundle through a part of the country that I'm still learning my way around, and Neil was very considerate of my limited hill-climbing ability!

I'll sort out a route for next time :)

Glad to hear that,  I know you wanted something like my Romeo ride.  Maybe you will be able to organize  a lunch outing similar to the Romeo rides.  Today's ride is to Olbe Kansas chicken house.  It's a ideal day today but I already have other commitments.

Now I have to figure out bimble? (travel at a leisurely pace).

Ah.  Take it that's a Brit expression then?

Well, I've not read of another one so could be you're right!  As for next time, looking forward to it and we must build in at least a coffee stop?

You’d be very welcome Woody, I’ll keep you posted. Maybe we can hit the Peaks next time?
