I am about 2200 miles into my first scoot, a 2009 agility 125, and I think I need new tires. I rode in the rain for the second time last week and didn't even make it a mile before slipping and shattering my wrist among other injuries. I need anything that will prevent this from happening again and figure tires is a great place to start. After some direction I am looking at the following tire;

Would this be a wise choice for an a125 in the rain? Is there another tire you can link to me that might be better? What is going to be the best way to get tires mounted? Any advice is appreciated!

After 12 years on 2 wheels, 365 days/year including rain, wind, snow and ice, I have the following advices:
- buy new tires, any, and keep them properly inflated; throw them away when they are more than 30 months old or have more than 12-15.000 kms regardless of how they look, always change the pair
- learn how to drive, lean over, brake and accelerate when the road is wet
- have a lot of luck so you do not encounter obstacle you cannot avoid, oil spots, animals that run in front of you, pedestrians etc. (I do not know how to achieve this point though)
- wear helmet, gloves, jacket and have a good (life, injury) insurance

I have OEMs on People 250S; it has 12.000 kms and the front tire is more worn than rear which is strange. I plan to squeeze 3000 more and change them in half a year even though they will still look good.
For years I used Sava tires on my scoots.
I was a fan of Bridgestone Battlax BT020 tire when I had a bike. I could ride the bike in rain as if it is dry!

I'm 100% with AXY on this one, and I'd bold the "learn to brake" thing.
It's not a bicycle, you can't just slam on the brakes and not fall - your front
wheel will lock up when you do that REGARDLESS of tires you have!
That said, the stock CST tires are horrible in wet after about 7000km from my
experience and you should replace them with anything.
I have no experience with the Kenda 761 but I'd use them only during the winter/snow
months here, it's NOT a road-only tire.
From reviews I've read, the Michelin Pilot City seems to be among the best in wet, and
very good on dry pavement, without going to racing-sport tires (that'll wear out before
you can imagine).

I've seen Maxxis around (re-branded CST), and at least two local Chinese scoot
dealers have in stock the tires that come on the scooters they sell (Baotian) and apparently
they're selling a lot of them since most "factory knows best" and stick with OEM
tires because of it.
Ignorant fools.

Don't forget the boots! You want that ankle protection - and a good non-slip tread as well.
Been using some Avon Viper Strykes for about 6 weeks now and have done some rain riding in them. So far I've been happy with the wet traction.
