I thought the dealer in Schenectady had a x-town on the floor. Turns out he didn't. He was about 150 miles away, and I was going to ride it home. I see some dealers will ship scooters anywhere, but I'm a little wary of doing that. It's too bad Kymco doesn't keep a national inventory listing somewhere. Looks like any thought of a new scoot are dashed.

When I had decided on the purchase of a new Liberty - I went to PiaggioUSA.....did a dealer search using my zip code.
Phoned the dealers to find the scooter and color I was looking for.
I bought a new Honda Forza and a new Suzuki Burgman the same way. Over the phone and via emails.
I didn't drive anywhere.
Had all 3 of them delivered to my driveway.
Even my Kymco, which was purchased locally - was delivered.

Seems to be the way the market is going all over. Here in the UK most dealers will deliver anywhere on mainland for flat fee of £99.

I found one at Clevelandmoto. It was delivered to my local dealer yesterday. He'll do a NYS inspection, and register it for me. Hopefully I'll be riding next week.

I've been keeping my eyes open for a AK 550 near me. I also am a bit concerned about having one shipped to me and would prefer to ride it home. But I don't want to ride a new one home from a dealer farther than the first oil change interval. So far that's what I'm seeing other than one or two locations with any in stock. Used ones are very rare and only one is close enough to even consider riding home a reasonable distance. So I guess I'm getting used to the idea that I'll have to have one delivered. I have found several locations at Hall's motorsports across the south with new 2021 units for a really good price but no way do I want to ride a brand new machine 800+ miles to break it in. So shipping it will be, most likely. Hope I can get shipping to my driveway. Heck, I'll even take one still in the crate since I feel I can assemble it.
Still have to sell my Burgman before I can buy anything so likely any used models right now will be gone by then.
