Kansas just updated their license tag operating system and it's Horrible . So far I have made 4 trips to try to tag my Grandvista to no avail. Their system won't accept titles from Iowa. I had no issues with a title from Colorado for the 200S
.After the 5th trip to the tag dept the lady called the office in Topeka and they forced it through despite a error message. I was so happy to get this resolved I bought the dept a box of doughnuts. I don't blame them it was the people in Topeka that put this new computer program in service without proper support.

how can they do that? if it's a legit title...it should be acceptable to transfer it to any other state..? Do they give a reason?

It's a glitch in the new system. The lady in the tag dept has no control over it. In Topeka they have no one to deal with the issues the new system has created . The tag dept lady has been trying to contact them for help all last week. Since the squeaky wheel gets the Greese I might try to contact the incompetent people in Topeka. Wonder how hours or days I'll spend on hold? To top it off I have to pay a hefty surcharge for these upgrades that don't work.
To add insult to injury the dealer sent the title to the country treasurer back in June. I called the dealer and they said they mailed the title to the county treasurer. I then went to the courthouse and sure enough they received it back in June and never contacted me.
All this for the privilege of paying huge sums of money each year in taxes.

Your tax dollars hard at work. I have a few vechicles tagged in Minnesota as well. They add a anti-theft surcharge and computer update charge as well. When they did the computer upgrade I sent my renewal in January and didn't receive my tabs until August (expired in February ). When I called the Minnesota state they told me just to drive on the expired tags they were having issues and had a huge backlog. They said Minnesota highway patrol was aware of the issue and would not issue tickets. When I asked about other states driving on expired tags she told me basically I was on my own.
All this torment and I get to pay for it in new fees. I don't know if I can handle any more (upgrades) . I also want to say the local tag dept's were nice people that were more frustrated dealing with the upgrades then I. Customers yell at them when their angry instead of the people who implementated this flawed system without testing it first.

I know the tag dept Ladies by name and they are nice people. She could of easily told me to come back when the issue was resolved. Since she spent over two hours trying to resolve the issue I thought a box of fresh hot doughnuts was in order.
