Title: Gas leak

2 stroke 50cc kymco like, I have gas leaking from air box drained whole tank and scoot would not start, when it did it wouldn't idle

Have you removed seat and the underbucket to have a look with a flashlight?

I would guess that the carb float valve is not fully closing, allowing fuel into the air intake side of the carb body and into the filter box.  Also, if this scooter has a diaphragm type petcock, the petcock should have prevented this from happening and should be checked as well.
