Haven't noticed this with Piaggio, Honda, etc.

I mentioned about this notice a few weeks ago on a few other web sites regarding the increase in the MSRP for the AK 550.
Now in the USA the MSRP for the AK is $9399.

Other makers may not change their prices but then they may have more slack in their profits to cover the increase in freight to the USA.

Kymco suppliers do not ship to Australia at all. Have to get all my parts from Europe.

Growing import prices may make it more attractive to build things domestically. But I am not aware of a single U.S. built scooter.
