Title: Backrest
Post by: monkeybongos on July 16, 2021, 01:49:25 AM
Sometimes I think I could ride all day, but it's the lack of a backrest more than anything that squelches that thought.  Having one on the Rebel makes me miss it that much more on the scoot.

Has anyone made a backrest for their scooter?  When I was looking for a scoot a couple years ago, there was an HD200 for sale w a seat that had a full height back.  Don't know if he made it or bought it, no way of finding out now.  But it would be great to have back support for longer rides.

while I've been reading up on Honda Helix's I see where a 'Utopia' brand backrest was very popular at one time. It was somehow mounted (through the seat) mid seat for the rider to rest against. Not sure if they are even still made or available new...so yes, scooter backrests exist. You may want to do a search on the Utopia backrest to see how it was mounted and installed. It may be possible to fabricate something for your scoot if nothing is available?

Interesting to see, thanks hawk.  After seeing those (and their prices), feel fortunate to have found a custom made backrest for Rebels at $80.
