To borrow a line from Paul  Harvey.   Last year I purchased a extremely clean low mileage white Kymco GV that had been meticulously maintained and kept in a garage. I purchased it from a guy that said it belonged to his wife and she had passed from cancer. During her battle she had the scooter completely serviced in hopes of one day riding it again.

Fastforward to this weekend. I just got back from picking up another white GV in mint condition low mileage meticulously maintained with service records.  It was sold by a dealer for another person. This GV  had belonged to a Husband that had passed from cancer and had it serviced with hopes of riding it again. 

Before I left on the trip I ordered tires for both GV'S Pirelli angels.   I guess in hindsight I could of ordered Diablos

wait, does this mean that owning a Kymco scooter increases our chances of an untimely death?  :) I hope not!

No, only owning white GV's!  (Seriously, I hope not.)  Thanks goodness I've got a blue GV.

No one gets out alive, we all eventually face the same fate. Unless your superstitious I do not beleive anything would have made a difference in these people's fate. When it's your time it's your time regardless of what you own.  I imagine my benefactors will have a field day selling my collection when the time comes for someone else to enjoy.

I look at it differently as well, these scooters brought joy into the lives of these people.  I look at it as good Karma not the grim reaper hitching a ride.  :o

I have a blue GV as well but do not know the story behind it. Only has 1600 miles on the odometer.

I used to stare at my very aged neighbor. .....and at his pristine old Beetle....waiting.

No joy.
I finally quit my 45yr affair with VW's (and all cars, for that matter)(save for the 1st gen. Scion xB)

I suspect he kept living just to spite me😊

I feel a little bad, sharing this....but it was a Cabriolet!

I wonder if some neighborhood teenager is waiting in the wings for me to die off? LOL  heck I've haven't even made it to the (get off my lawn) stage yet so hopefully I've got a few more good years.
