Only the 2nd time I can remember aborting a morning scooter ride due to fog.
Here at the reservoir it was fine....but when heading though town out to my coffee village it was maybe 3 car lengths* of visibility. Not good in city traffic if you don't have a Buick wrapped around you. Turned around in the city and headed home.
I thought, "no, summer is just starting - I like riding in the fog - but this stuff is too much ....and there will be many other days."

* the Mrs was surprised to see me. Barely foggy at our house.
A note on this photo: 'Parking brake' applied here-- the US market gets turn pods and three brake lights across the rear of the LIBERTY. Euro models have clear lenses either side of the center brake light with amber bulbs in them for turning - and no turn pods. I much prefer the American version with more brake lights!

Just recalled one work commute fog ride on the LIKE200i years ago.
The fog was so "WET" it was actually like rain - I had to raise my face shield ...then I had to remove my glasses!
I had to ride slowly to work by looking down & bearing just off of the yellow center stripe!

Fog bothers me to Drive-In especially at night. When I was a young man a car pulled out in front of my truck in dense fog on the highway. It destroyed both vechicles but miraculously no one was seriously hurt. Some kids had (borrowed) there Grandad's car for a night of partying. While I was sitting in the hwy-patrol car waiting for a tow truck a call came in where a family was killed running into the side of a train.

Good decision. Being able to see is a pretty important part of driving! As you noted, there will be plenty more days to ride this season. Best to keep yourself and your scoots in one piece so as to enjoy them.

Crossbolt when young I drove Buicks, now I drive pickups. LOL Both weigh 3 tons.
