Title: How long will our LIKEs last?
Post by: Ruffus on March 28, 2021, 11:37:16 AM
Have a nice Sunday, fellow Kymco LIKE riders!

Saw this LIKE 125, MY 2010 with 115.000 km on the clock in our main selling platform "subito.it" this morning.
So, with our average of few thousand kilometers or miles on the odo we need not to worry too much about our rides.

Not a Kymco  Like but last year I purchased a Kymco People 250 for parts. The 07 People has 65,000 kilometers on the clock.  I bought this as a non-runner for parts (body work is very nice).  Imagine my surprise when I put a battery in it, fresh fuel, oil change and it fired up.  The brake rotors and pads are wore out along with enough other stuff I doubt if I will put it back  on the road.  But never say never.  I might get bored some winter.

so properly (or even improperly?) maintained our scooters will run a long time...what do you suppose is the biggest reason they get parked and never used again? I would guess it's as simple as old gas and clogged carbs...causing a 'no start'. Dead battery probably ranks up there, too.

What else do you see as causing a scoot be parked permanently?

Pretty sure this is 11,469.1 Km = 7, 126 miles.

Look closer at the odometer fellows -

anyway - this is LESS than half what many of us have on our LIKE200i's.

I have over 28,000 Km on my LIKE200iLX.

Hmmmh...
one time that many kms in its description, I might think they erred, but twice, I guess the odo turned over once already.

My opinion is the only way to wear out either a Kymco or a Honda is to run it a couple of days with no oil.....

I think you hit the main two reason's.  Sometimes life gets in the way or health issues.  Other reasons I've ran into is work,  dropping the bike, falling over scaring them or just other interest.

Ruffus, heck of a coincidence that the odometer rolled over twice exactly so that 11469.1 could be misstated as 115,000 when "rounded-up" in the advert.
Willing to bet you a donut that this scooter has nearly 11,500 Km on it - not 115,000.

Could you imagine what the compression figures would be on this 125cc scooter after 115bazillion kilometers :)

Dear fellow riders,
SHAME ON ME. Out of curiosity called the lady yesterday and she told me, her son, where she parks the scoot, just read all figures off its odo and she put it in this advertisement. Sorry for not having checked before boasting 115.000 km.

I put 33,400 miles (54,000km) on a Super 8 150.  It was still running strong when I sold it.  It spent most of its life at or near full throttle.

I have 11,570 miles on my Like150i.  It feels like its just broken in.

Doing some eord problems here....
I just asked my cell phone, " how far is 18,000 miles?"
It answered: " 18,000 miles is 95 million & 40 thousand feet."
95,040,000 foots.....figure 3 donuts per foot, 12 in a box ....4.75 hrs to Cleveland. ...so, .....what time is lunch?
