Has anyone changed their own oil in their AK550? If so, I was curious how much body work had to be removed to get to the oil filter? Is it best to let the shop do it? I am always worried about possibly breaking a tab.

I did an oil change recently on my AK550. There are quite a few screws, bolts and plastic fasteners to remove, but it was not that difficult. I took my time and was very careful as I moved the plastic parts out of the way.

Wel-I appreciate your reply. I am going to try to at least do the first one. I believe that is supposed to be at somewhere around 180-200 miles. I will definitely take my time as you have done. Thank you Wel.

According to the owners manual first oil change is 600 miles. I did it at around 500 miles.

I look forward to reports after a DIY valve check, if oil changes are like this on this flagship Kymco.

All that for an oil change? Please post some pictures!
