Title: Super 8 150--2021---does it have fuel pump?
Post by: john grinsel on March 10, 2021, 05:44:27 PM
Considering buying one---2021 specs say carb (fine with me)----does it have fuel pump? (for me one less thing to mess with)

John, looking at a parts diagram online it looks like it just has a regular vacuum operated petcock from the rear, high mounted fuel tank.

No fuel pump to worry about but I think that the Fuel filler is under the seat.  That means if you have stuff bungeed on the back of the seat you have to remove it every time you fill up and with a 1.3 Gal tank that will happen a lot.  That was one of the things I didn't like about my Super 8.  I did find I could bungee a small bag directly to the seat so I didn't have to remove it to fill up.

Small scoots usually carry the load on the floor (see photo), so it's common to have rear fuel tanks.  TBH, I'm not sure how this model carries its freight, though. Also, FWIW(!), carbureted Kymcos are much much easier to live with long-term than the fuel-injected models.
