Did not take me long to lose the Kendas on my new LIKE back in 2013. Less than a month after purchasing the scooter I was back having better rubber mounted under me for my all-weather work commuting.
Dealer wanted @$450 for the tires and installation.
Paid $109 to have a set of City Grips shipped (4 days) to my door......couple of hours later dealer installed them on my LIKE200iLX for $153. I thought that was a very fair price - they did excellent work. (one month into scooter ownership - I was NOT about to attempt removing the wheels myself)

That seems like it would still be a reasonable price to pay today to have a shop mount new tires on the scoot.
Have you had your new tires installed on the Piaggio?
-
Most recent email from the shop...."waiting on the weather."
S v oot is still very much rideable, so not impatient. ...heck may end up removing them myself - mainly because I want to do a big clean under there, like I did when I removed the rear wheel of the LIKE200i a couple yrs ago. Spent a couple of hours with rags, toothbrush and orange degreaser making things like new again.

You got a bike lift Major? Or do you have to scrabble around on the garage floor like me?

Scrabble. And the scrabblin' parts are starting to complain. (blew out my L knee at work a couple of years ago - they removed some packing and a crush washer. Saved in a pickle jar on the mantle)

Sounds like the dealer was charging $300 for the tires? How do they justify that?

Hope you outlive your scoots, curious how many miles they get when so well taken care of.

@Stig,
.wooouuw, labour over there is really breathtaking.
Got four Michelin tyres for my Volvo V70 at a local tyre-shop all inclusive
taking off, mounting, balancing and disposal of old ones for € 424,- all in all. Here they take around €15,- for work and balancing, €5,- for disposal per wheel, if you bring your own tyres.This price includes already VAT of 10% for labour. And this l thought is a rip-off.
