Title: 2013 out the door price for my LIKE200iLX
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on February 23, 2021, 12:15:35 PM
Found this old post:

April 2013,  2012 LIKE 200i LX (the blue & white model) dealer new stock : I paid $2699 +$198 freight (prep & set up $0) + $149 documents fee = $3046
$3292.72 on the road.

First service price quote was $372.00.....more than 10% what i paid for my scooter. So, bought some tools and learned about scooter maintenance  :)

That's outrageous!  First (Dealer) service on my X-Town 300i was £77.62 or $109.38 at today's rates!

To my delight - I  discovered that, by blind-stupid first-timer's luck, I had purchased the scooter with THE world's easiest valve cover to access!
Just dumb-lucky...super easy to service this scooter.

they really haven't gone up over the years. my 2020 like 200i was 2550.00 plus the freight and set up. but, I still don't have it from the order date of 12/08/2020. still waiting
it is upstate NY and not a big rush for now. hope it holds up as good as yours did. I will definitely be doing my own service. worked on bikes for years and like learning. once did a valve adjustment on my 2015 honda pcx150, now that's time consuming

Do you still have your PCX? Curious as to your experience with it. Not sure if you have seen the new 2021 Honda ADV 150, but it has the same engine as the PCX. Very sharp-looking bike and I am seriously considering taking the plunge.

Also, hope your new scoot comes in soon. When I look for bikes, I always like to see what's in stock within a reasonable distance from my house. I think I would gladly drive 100, maybe 200, miles to get the bike I wanted from a dealer who had it in stock rather than order and wait indefinitely. Of course, if you need service down the road, it's always nice to work with the dealer who sold you the bike. But then again, if a local dealer sells whatever brand you have, they ought to be happy enough to handle whatever you need. Probably the case when you're paying, but my guess is that dealers probably don't like handling warranty work on bikes bought "out of town."

How much adjustment was needed?  Was under the impression Hondas rarely needed valve work.

And my impression from reading their forum for several years. ..is that most of them never check the valves. ..b e c a u s e they are such a PITA to get to.
Not many blowing up, so must be OK to ignore them.
