Title: Spade 150 check engine light

I just bought a 2019 Kymco Spade 150 with full knowledge that the check engine light was on. It was a trade in to the dealer and I was able to talk them down from $2,700 + TTO to $2,300 + TTO because of the check engine light. It only has 1,200 miles on it. On the way home, I took it 55mph at one point to get it over a highway bridge, but I mostly tried to not be to hard on it because it's not been broken in. Just before my hour drive home was complete, the oil light came on. I had forgotten to check the oil at the dealership, when checking it out. :P So I stopped and checked the oil and it was nearly dry! I then put oil in it all the way up to the H mark, but the oil light wouldn't turn off. Later, the gas light came on because it was nearly empty. So I filled it up with gas but the gas light wouldn't turn off! Now I have the check engine, oil and gas lights on! This causes me to start wondering if there is a wiring issue, or the need for some kind of light reset procedure. I may take it to a motorcycle mechanic today or later in the week, but wanted to get input from y'all.

Well, THAT doesn't sound like the most promising start to your new adventure. Kind of wonder why the dealer you bought from hadn't checked oil and gas before you headed out the door. I wish I could offer some suggestions. Good luck getting it all resolved!

Disconnect battery for a time, then reconnect -- would be my laymen's fully unknowledgeable step if it were mine.

A question: was this from a Kymco dealer?...nevertheless there is a fully transferable 2 yr warranty on the engines of Kymco scooters & bikes.

Kymcos have check-engine lights and time-for-oil-change lights.  Your dealer may (if he's in a good mood) show you how to turn them off.  For my Kymco Kiwi, it's not in the Owner's manual.

For accuracy's sake, that's not the case for all Kymco's.  For example, the oil change warning symbol switch off procedure is detailed on Page 13 of my X-Town 300i manual.

Take bike back to selling dealer.   Having purchased over 75 new bikes/scooters in the past 66 years, I always check oil/tire pressure before riding off----book really necessary, too.
