6:00 am?  Still 75 minutes 'til the alarm goes off!

Sometimes,  not always, I'm 1st in the door at Dino's coffee shop when he opens at 6:45AM.
Strangely - hardly ever see another rider out😊

D'You know Tom, it's been way too cold for me to ride here for over a week - it's been sub zero c all day today - and yet I have still seen a handful of hardy souls this week riding through our village.  Mostly commuters I reckon, but credit to them.  As I think I may have mentioned before, I did 20-odd years of commuting by bike year-round in all weathers and didn't even own a car at the time.  Gladly those days are behind me now and I'm free to pick and choose when I ride, so when I go out now, it's always a treat!

I asked Stig in another thread if he ever seen another scooter rider/motorcyclist out during those bitter cold temperatures?  Neal I've seen one commuter on a scooter in the bitter cold, made me shiver just watching him ride from out by the interstate back into town. No helmet or gloves just a heavy coat.

Man that's unbelievable!  Even with winter-weight gloves I was uncomfortable after 12 miles today at 6c.  I used to commute 26 miles by motorcycle and I well remember stopping more than once to thaw frozen hands on the cylinder head before resuming the journey...
