Title: ? Rev limiter
Post by: flying old guy on January 14, 2021, 03:03:12 PM
I have a 2012 Yeager GT 200i. When I bring it up to about 65mph, I'm touching the red line as seen on the tach. There is still more throttle to go but I start getting nervous about overrevving. I haven't felt like a rev limiter has kicked in, so wondering if there is one. Thanks, Ernie

On my downtown 300 2011, from break in to 20,000 Km.s   upon changing the rear tire while removing the exhaust ,  a washer dropped out the hole was 1/2 the size of the pipe, so must have been the RPM restrickor,  on my frost -Yager 2009 did not see anything on it ,  on my Piaggio B V 350 the manual says a electronic restrictor  cut in at 85 miles per hour,   going down hill I have passed 100 MPH and it did not drag it back with the motor  so it must cut off the torque at 85 MPH

Yes there is a rev limiter; cuts in at about 120kmph.  You will feel the power cut and see the engine light flash when it cuts in; usually with full throttle on a downhill stretch.

Thanks for the reply. The other reason I ask, I have seen 70mph on the digital speedometer and it still felt like would still go a bit more. I've only did this once and most likely won't do it again.
