WooHoooooo...Way To Go, wordslinger!!
You gonna collect one of each Kymco? :D
-
...i still want that S9...
-
When do you want it? LOL
There are some out there for some decent prices...if you can travel to get them. I would have had me one if I still had my pickup truck or my van, believe me.
-
if you can travel to get them
..reckon i just did that.........
;)
-
Ya like Red?
http://wausau.craigslist.org/mcy/2002706955.html (http://wausau.craigslist.org/mcy/2002706955.html)
-
...wisconsin......
-
Yeah, the one for $800 is in Chicago. Told ya...have to travel to get 'em. There's only about 40 of them listed at any given time across the U.S. and only a handful are L/C.
-
...finding a Used Kymco in general is hard to do.........
..i had already searched all of NC and parts of northern SC and southern VA....
-
You're right. I searched for months before I found one near me. I searched all of Virginia and northern North Carolina. People keep their Kymcos. lol
-
So do you get the day off tomorrow to check out your new scoot?
-
..yeah...don't i wish......
-
...well, she ain't a looker, but gawd... don't she just get on down th' road!!!
-
Congrats on the new Peeps. You said you drove 4 hours roundtrip to Charlottesville Va, If you don't mind me asking where do you live?
-
..it was 3.5 hours up there...almost to the minute, on mapquest's estimate...
..i live in Randleman, NC...
;)
..what about you pedro??
-
You got a tri-colored speed machine there! ;D
-
Nice pic.
Yeah, you need some auxiliary lighting on that thing for riding at night.
-
You got a tri-colored speed machine there
..yeah, well..that blue is gonna disappear really quickly...
;D
-
lol...i figured as much.
-
Yeah, you need some auxiliary lighting on that thing for riding at night.
..TRUE STORY!!...
..i'm used to being seen!!..
..this morning...@ 6:00am...i was on my way to work...pitch dark...with only oem lighting and NO MIRRORS!!!!....rode home with no mirrors as well...
..THAT SUCKED!!!!
-
Just not a safe situation.
Maybe the headlight will be better than the agility? That's another worry - seeing the road.
-
..nope..
..i reckon forward illumination, between the two scoots, compare relatively the same....
-
I've been looking into replacing my main beam with an HID. Riding after dark kinda sucks on my people.
-
That's too bad. This is a tough time of year to ride in the dark without an effective headlight.
Lots of deer running around.
-
Lots of deer running around.
..i hate them deers.....
:-\
-
I've been looking into replacing my main beam with an HID
..cool..if you find something that works, let me know!!..lol..
..it's my biggest beef with a scoot...
..the headlamp projection...
-
...blue's gotta go....
-
^^
Will do. :)
-
...blue's gotta go....
You gonna paint it all black first chance you get?
-
Sounds like you have a busy weekend ahead.
-
What color is the other people?
-
..red-burgandy like...
-
..2001 pipe, then 2007...
-
...same pipe...different interior porting...
-
Seems to be in pretty good shape.
Even though my pipes are only 2 years old, they're looking pretty rusty already.
-
...my agility has NO rust at all....
-
I figure it's the result of driving through 2 winters with lots of salt on the roads.
I ran through a lot of slushy stuff last year with all the snow we got hit with.
-
...when ice or snow, or even temps below 25 degrees are predicted here,...lol.. they spray a "brine" solution on our roads...the day before the predicted precip....
..it's very nasty acting on my sinuses......
:-\
-
It's not doing my scoot any good either. The rear shock is starting to rust as well.
I'm hoping the exhaust doesn't rust through in the near future.
-
..reckon i'm fortunate for living down here in th' south....
..the brine only comes around 3 or four times a winter....
:)
-
And you have a scooter friendly house to store your loved ones in.
But I guess I can always get a new exhaust when the old one goes.
-
...so, the seafoam has been working well...cleaning everything out...
..the airbox cover was open at the bottom...and the element had been de-formed...
..washed and cleaned and straightened all that out...
..smoothed out a bit more, but running rich at idle...
..really rich.....
..can't get the carb adjusted down enough to eliminate it, so..i'm guessing the pilot jet has been modded...
-
..exellente...
-
Try cleaning out the bystarter circuit, may help.
-
...good idea...
-
So Word, what kind of progress on the new beastie did you make today?
-
..none...hadda work all day...still there now...
-
So at least you'll get to put some more miles on her.
No doubt she needs some time on the road after being stored for the last year.
-
..so far, i am pleased with the scoot overall...
..i can deal with the rich idle for now...
..just have to rev it a cpl times before i take off from a long red-light....
-
Congrads what a great deal. Dang yours has less kms than mine!
I have faith you'll have that thing runnin like a scalded dog before long ;D
-
..i'm reckon i'm gonna let it stay where it is right now...
..it cut 5 minutes off my commute to work and back!!...
..at 17 miles, that's just frikin awesome...
..it pulls the hills like crazy!!!
..my guilty had a faster top speed, downhill, but fell off dramatically up the long steep hills..
..and, again...i could gotten an 08 people instead of the a50, when i first bought a scoot...
..bought the guilty because it was much bigger...imma big boy...
-
..it cut 5 minutes off my commute to work and back!!...
That's awesome, wordslinger!!
-
..i know right, rianna?!..
..and i'm not maxing it out most of the time...
..actually having to throttle-back quite a bit in city traffic...
-
..actually having to throttle-back quite a bit in city traffic...
LOL...I bet you're not used to that! It's nice to know you have that little bit of extra when you need it though, right? Hey, does it feel small or funny since you're used to the agility? I'm curious because I've never seen a people up close so I don't know if it sits lower or if it sits a bit higher with the bigger tires.
-
...imma big boy...
Me too brother
5 minutes! That is great
-
Hey, does it feel small or funny since you're used to the agility
..yeah, it does!!..
;D
-
Me too brother
5 minutes! That is great
..i reckon maybe i knew you were in g-boro...but i musta forgotten it...
..dang, you ride with any ppls??
???
-
..yeah, it does!!..
Rats. Sorry. Maybe you need the power of the people on the frame of the agility, if that were possible. You must be tall.
-
...that would work!!
..yeah, i'm 6 ft...
-
..dang, you ride with any ppls??
???
Your good. I don't I would love to though. My buddy used to have a VIP and we rode but he sold it.
-
lol... He rode mine today and said "dang your scooter is fast". Hes a lot lighter than me.
-
..yeah, i'm 6 ft...
That's why!
I found some boots that added me about 3 inches and I'm still a bit short on the agility. LOL.
Dang. I was hoping them taller tires would help. I guess the seat height must be lower then.
-
.....i reckon other than the S9, the ppl is the quickest kymco...
-
I guess the seat height must be lower then.
..yes it is...much lower...
-
Yeah, I read somewhere that the S9 and the ppl are the fastest. I just think the S9 is sharp lookin'. Every time I see one, I want it...lol.
-
...you coulda had one, you know....
-
Yeah, I tried. Didn't have a way to get there and get it. :(
Maybe there'll be another one, though.
-
..you need one of these short lil ppls...
;)
-
I know you're right...really I do...but they don't look the same as the S9. :D
-
..but they kinda ...grow on y'...after you ride one...
-
Well, I won't rule it out 'til I ride one then.
That 52mph does sound nice!
-
..i gotta gps this scoot...
..it's way quicker than the guilty, but i suspect a speedo offset...
-
Yeah, I'm curious. I'm sure it's quicker since your commute time is lessened, though.
You gonna make a new vid now? ;D
-
...yup..new vids are a'coming...
;D
-
Cool.
My dog barked at your Finger Song one...lol
-
I did GPS on mine once, not lately. I think the speedo indicated like 2 mph faster than gps at 40mph.
-
2mph isn't bad, Peters. I suspect some are off by way more than that. Sounds like you got a pretty good one.
-
My dog barked at your Finger Song
;D
-
..the a 50 is 5mph optimistic at @ 35...gets closer as it approaches 50...
..not sure how much the offset it above 50 tho..
-
She did. It was kinda funny. I never had the speakers hooked up before. She was sound asleep 'til I played that one. She got up barked and started looking around for you. She couldn't figure it out. :D
-
She couldn't figure it out.
..well, bless her heart......
..i have a fan!!...
-
2mph isn't bad, Peters. I suspect some are off by way more than that. Sounds like you got a pretty good one.
I would agree! to echo others, mine is off by 7mph, confirmed by friends Harley (yes, we ride together-talk about quite a site. Fat boy vs ppl 50) Any way, I just compensate for it, not a big deal for me to try to fix it. (yes, I can be lazy)
-
..i really need to gps this 2007...
-
word, are you gonna rebuild your agility? or, use it as a parts bike? I think you should shoot for 100,000k on it, only about 40,000 more to go!
-
..i want to rebuild it...for sure...
..but i don't know should i go back oem...
..which was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!..or..
..THROW A KIT ON DAT BITCH!..
-
"Throw a Kit" by Hollywood Holt (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_kIUSr7-is#)
-
Turn that sucker into an agility 150. Any room for a bigger engine?
-
...if th' headlight goin out , jus' jiggle da cord...
:D
-
You brought it back
Awesome
I couldn't stop laughing when I watched that :D
I had to put a link on my facebook
-
...i miss zombie....
-
"Throw a kit" HA! funny, even though I despise rap! scooter enthusiasts in the most unlikely places. Kindda made me smile...
-
...just did some more "stare and compare"...
..found that the drive boss from the 2001 ppl measures 1.475"...
..the boss that's on my 2007 measured out to 1.500...a full .025" longer..
..swapped out the 2007 for the 2001 and gained 5 mph on the scoot's top speed...
;D
..sweeeet...
-
Very interesting , good catch . What is top speed now ?
-
...yeah, the speedometer on the 07 only goes up to 50 mph...
..the 01 shows 60....
..i had been hitting about 52 before...downhill...wide-the-fnck-open...
;D
..looked closer to 57 and i didn't hit any big downhill runs...
..i gotta gps this scoot...........
-
..i gotta gps this scoot...........
You need to do that. 57 sounds awesome!
I knew you'd be swapping and mixing and matching before too long. :D
-
I knew you'd be swapping and mixing and matching before too long
...dammit...........
:D
-
You need to do that. 57 sounds awesome!
..yeah 57 does...but i ran 65+ indicated on the 01....
-
You got me beat either way.
You needed that ppl!
-
...lol...yeah..shaved 5 minutes off my commute to work!!
-
...too bad you didnt get that S9, rianna...
;)
..sorry..........
-
Thanks. Maybe another deal will come my way.
-
Actually, I think the agility is a good first scoot for learning. I had never ridden so I was happy to get something easy to handle.
I figure now that I have a couple of years of scooting under my belt, I can start dreaming about a faster one!
-
Lol...Oswaldters, I'm not worried about it being too fast. I can ALWAYS go slower.
But the Agility is big for me. Not so easy to handle for short folks...lol.
-
Not so easy to handle for short folks...lol.
..true.............
-
Admittedly I never thought about your height - here on the internet we're all the same size!
The one shorter person I know who rides has a Yamaha Vino and I know it's considerably lower to the ground.
-
Hmm...is that the other one that looks like they turned a bucket upside down and sat it on the floorboard?
-
Looks like your traditional vespa.
She has an Audrey Hepburn fantasy about scooting around on it.
-
LOL! Well there's a reason to ride a scoot that I never heard before!!! :D
-
here on the internet we're all the same size
...except for that one guy...
;)
-
Well, there is that.
-
...cooolll..
8)
..ride home today with a 20 mpg gusting sidewind...
..sitting upright!!!..just like the big boys do...
..scoot will run a good strong 57 indicated..needle over the long part of the "k" in kmh...
;)
..indicates between 45-49 on flat land..with the cross-wind...
..had to be tucked and sucked to run there on my guilty...
:-\
-
Too bad you didn't have a 20 mph tailwiind.
Now that would have moved the needle.
-
..i have two other drive boss bushings that are still well within spec on their I.D., and they fit nicely on the shaft...
..imma machine one to 1.475", for a good spare..and one to 1.450".....
..THAT one imma try out when i get a new malossi variator, coupled with a gates 729 belt....
..i think the OEM moveing drive face's roller ramp profile is maxed out...
..i noted hard roller markings on the outside edges of the ramps...
..the malossi has a longer ramp profile, which lets the rollers travel further out, which causes the belt to ride higher on the pulley at top speed...
..the malossi is also a few mm greater in diameter than oem....
..every mm is a good one!!!
peace
-
Too bad you didn't have a 20 mph tailwiind.
Now that would have moved the needle.
..i'm not going to push the oem variator setup any further...
..i've learned a bit about reading them bad boys,
..and she's giving it all she's got captain!!...
-
What size weights you running in that beast?
-
...oem...i haven't weighed them..
..i don't know what the oem 2007 wts are...
...but i gotta triple-beam!!!!!
;D
-
..i gotta give props to kymcos oem rollers...
..they last and last...........
-
They sure do have a lot of different brands of rollers out there. And there is quite a price difference for them too.
But I see you can order the OEM rollers from Stadium for under $7!
-
...just gotta watch what weight you buy...oem isn't the optimum weight after derestricting...
8)
-
That's what I'm working on.
I'm going to try and reduce the roller weight a little at a time until I find that sweet spot.
-
They sure do have a lot of different brands of rollers out there. And there is quite a price difference for them too.
But I see you can order the OEM rollers from Stadium for under $7!
Try again, Stadium shows the factory roller weights at $5.23. Each! Add on shipping and you're looking at around $40 for the stockers. >:(
-
Yeah I missed that part.
But I went ahead and ordered from your ebay link. Can't beat 3 sets for $17 shipped.
-
Hopefully you'll get yours as quickly as I did. 6 days from Taiwan! ;D
-
..yeah, use el-cheapos to experiment with...
..dial it in, then get you some good'ns....
-
Yeah, this is my version of a tuning kit!
I'm thinking 5.5g might be it, but won't know for sure til I do some experimenting.
-
...yup!!..
..i got my money on 5.0.....
;)
-
When I do go with some good weights, what brand(s) have you used that you thought were good?
-
..malossi, oem then leo vince...are the best i've ever ran...
..used ncy and a cpl or three different generics as well...
-
I bet you've gone through a few sets with all those kms on the guilty.
-
...there are also a lot of good arguments about dr pulley slider weights in this forum...
..not so many in the 50 cc boards, and i 've never tried them....
...but looking at their shape...they look a lot like how rollers tend to naturally wear over time....
:o
-
So when you do the rollers, oswaldters. Do you need the impact wrench to take it off and the torque wrench to put the nut back on? Or do you just use a new nut? Do you need both tools you think or will one do it?
-
..neither!!!!
..lol..i use a 17mm, 3/8" drive S&K socket and ratchet ...
..imma big boy tho...
;)
-
Well, dang...I don't reckon I'll ever be a big boy...
-
The lady asks a great question.
I was just discussing that very issue with my much more mechanically inclined neighbor.
I do have a cheap electric impact wrench (thanks Harbor Freight) that I'll use to get the nut off for the first time.
Don't know if that's the best way to put it back on though - don't want to torque it too far.
-
...there are also a lot of good arguments about dr pulley slider weights in this forum...
I've been wondering about them. They're expensive but seem to be regarded as really great.
So they just go in like the traditional roller weights but slide rather than roll?
-
...electric impact wrenches generate less torque than 100 psi pnumatic wrenches...
..you should be fine...
-
So they just go in like the traditional roller weights but slide rather than roll?
..they do slide, but they correctly install ONE WAY...
..i've read where ppl installed them wrong, and caused damage to their variator...
-
That's why I went cheap! My neighbor has one of those pneumatic ones that would snap that thing in a heartbeat.
Wasn't going to borrow that!
He is getting a motorcycle jack though - and I'll be wanting to borrow that!
-
.they do slide, but they correctly install ONE WAY...
Hope they come with instructions then!
-
He is getting a motorcycle jack though
..i want a lift table....
-
...lol..yeah...
-
How do I know you'd be eating your fruit loops off that liftable?
-
The dr sliders are great. But can be tricky putting them in the right way.
-
..hey art...what is the oem roller wt. in the 2007??
-
..hey art...what is the oem roller wt. in the 2007??
the weights in my 2004 were 8.5 grams. I would expect them to be the same in the '07.
-
...maybe so, but after 2004, the ppls are more restricted...
..wondered if they did anything with the rollers......
-
Do you have a scale that can read tens of a gram? I have a small digital postal scale I used to weigh my rollers.
-
...yeah, i have a set of triple-beams...
..from waay back in th' day...lol..
..dunno why i didn weigh 'm when i had them out...duh.....
-
It only take about 5 minutes to get them back out and weigh 'em.
-
It only take about 5 minutes to get them back out and weigh 'em.
..i know, but i'm drinking bud lights tonight....
..ain't gotta work tomorrow, for a change.....
..so i'm being lasy and gettin' buzzed...lol..
-
..i know, but i'm drinking bud lights tonight....
Think of it as creating more splash guards.
-
Think of it as creating more splash guards.
..and shims!!!
..bud light cans make AWESOME shims!!!
-
...after you crush the empty cans on your forehead I suspect...
-
..owww!!..no!!!..that sh** hurts!!!
-
..ppl in th' fire....
peace
-
Hmm...is that a bud light can in that there barrel?? :D
-
is that a bud light can in that there barrel??
What are the odds?
To bad he missed out on that sweet L/C S9...
-
To bad he missed out on that sweet L/C S9...

-
Dang, oswaldters, he burned his empty bud light cans, I reckon he couldn't have afforded it...
-
I know it - shame, it was an immaculate S9 no less...
-
You'll have to check out the "Where in the world is Word" postings in the general section...
...wowww...dang...no kidding?....
..ain't made it that far yet...dang..imma go there now...
-
That ppl looks hott!!
-
That ppl looks hott!!
..not nearly as hot as the bl can tho...
-
True that!
