Do you ever eat at a food truck vendor affectionately known as a roach coach? We have a couple set up in McPherson one for Japanese and the other Mexican food. I eat at the Japanese one at least once a week and the vendor knows my name. Very good food, large portions and reasonable prices.

not in more than 50 years, my work, before I retired, had me out in the wilds, away from any civilization that would support a food truck, I do have fond memories of visiting my cousins, they had an ice cream truck where they lived

I remember the ice cream truck vividly as a kid, I believe it was a old postal service truck. You would here the bell a block away which gave you time to hit up Mom for some money and get back outside before they arrived. A bygone era.

The story of MIGUEL'S, our village Food Truck:
In 2019 ICE detained Miguel Espinosa, one of our favorite village citizens, after being stopped again for repeat driving under suspension.
120 letters of support and $12,000 raised in support, helped the judge decide to let him out, conditionally. (he said, "I doubt that I could get 120 letters in support!")
Judge - "Have you even tried to get a license?"
Miguel - "No."
"Why not?"
"I don't have a Social" (Security Card)
"Well OK, that makes a certain amount of sense, since you're lot legally here."
Anyway - he's out - and has moved from his very popular food truck, which was in a once weed filled space behind a shop, to open a kitchen in the new Trail Town Brew Pub. Married with kids - I hope he makes a go of it!

This was the day we were eating at our sidewalk spot - and she set about rescuing a caterpillar that was headed across Route 68.

Great story Stig, good luck to you Miguel. And Stig you really must tell, what on earth was your daughter doing crawling behind the car? Surely not too many Coronas?

She spotted this little guy crawl up on the rear tire of this parked car, then it went down onto the road and started across. Well, she didn't want to be party to its certain death - so she waited for it to crawl out behind the car where she could reach it.
